Traditionally, Reiki healers are not taught to send distant healing until they attain the
second degree. While the Reiki II distance techniques and symbols focus and strengthen a
person's ability to send energy tremendously, we are all born capable of doing it. Our
thoughts constantly send out energy, although most of us are unaware of that fact. To make
constructive use of our ability, all we have to do is become consciously aware of our
thoughts and focus them with the intent to send healing energy to a person or a situation.
Focus and intention are key to directing healing energy.
I believe being aware of and open to the
assistance of a higher power to carry out a focused intention is the other factor
necessary to effectively send healing energy without using Reiki. This higher power can
take many forms depending on our belief system. Some examples are God/Goddess, the
Creator, Jesus, the Great Being, the Elohim, the Archangels, St. Germain, and Buddha.
There are many others.
While I don't personally "see"
spirits myself, I have often been made aware of their presence, and even more so after
being attuned to Reiki. For instance, it's not unusual for someone receiving a Reiki
treatment to remark that they felt an "extra" pair of hands working on them
during the session. Also, many of my students have described the guide who appeared to
them at the time of their attunements. Most Reiki practitioners say that what happens
during a Reiki session has very little to do with what they're doing, but rather is coming
from their connection to Spirit.
Reiki practitioners are told at the time of
their first attunement that they have received a Reiki spirit guide to assist them with
their healing work. What is not readily known, however, is that spiritual help for the
purpose of sending distant healing energy is available to anyone who asks for and accepts
it. Everyone is capable of sending healing energy if they're made aware that they can do
it. Reiki II training provides that awareness along with the tools to greatly simplify and
empower the process, but it's not absolutely necessary to have Reiki training to send
distant healing energy. Anyone can do it if they truly wish to.
In summary, to send healing energy to a
person or a situation without being a Reiki II practitioner focus your thoughts with the
intention to heal and ask a higher power to deliver the energy. It works a lot like
developing your psychic ability: the more you believe you can do it, the more successful
you'll be.
You should be able to adapt and use most of
the Reiki distance healing techniques found on this site by (1)
focusing your thoughts with the intention to create the given outcome and by (2) asking a
higher power like an angel or a spirit guide (whatever feels right to you) to carry out
the steps in the technique for you. This *will* work for you, I promise. Having an
intention and asking for spiritual help in creating it is powerful stuff!
One more thing . . . the process will work
better if you do something to raise your energy vibration each time, before you
start the process. One way to do that without using Reiki is to visualize yourself
surrounded by a healing white light and have the intention that the light is
healing you and raising your vibration. There are other disciplines, such as Qi Gong, that
could also be used to raise your vibration. There's no right or wrong way. Whatever works
for you is O.K. So give it a try and trust that you'll get good results, because you will!
