Transiting Retrograde Planets
Because Earth wobbles on her axis every now and then, the planets
occasionally appear to stop dead in their tracks in the sky and move backward for awhile.
Astrologers and astronomers refer to this contrary motion as "retrograde." The
planets dont actually move backward, they just appear to from our view of them here
on Earth. When it comes to retrograde motion, its actually Earth doing the moving.
From observing the retrograde planets over time (at least 5,000 years),
astrologers have noticed that the mundane goods and activities associated with those
planets appear to move in the same direction during their retrograde periods. In other
words, these times are not the best times to do or buy the things "ruled" by the
retrograde planet. Instead, it's often the best time to re-do those things. In fact,
retrograde periods are usually the best time to do anything beginning with "re."
The Sun and Moon never go retrograde, which is good, because just
imagine what would happen to the tides! All the other planets have retrograde periods, some frequently but for a relatively brief duration,
others less frequently but for a longer interval. The inner planets, Mercury, Venus
and Mars, are the most troublesome when
they're retrograde. Below are links to the current astrological wisdom regarding how to
make the best use of their retrograde times.
